Courtney Scherr, director of the HCID lab, is a long-time member of the HCAT lab run by Jakob Jensen at the University of Utah. This fall, members of the HCAT lab were in Chicago for the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. We decided it was an opportune time for the HCID lab to host a writing retreat with the HCAT lab. We determined a one-day writing retreat was far too short, but we made progress on various manuscripts and set up our labs and projects for the longer writing retreat in Utah in October!
